Land Rover Discovery is a mid-size luxury SUV that has been available in two runs. The first was between 1994 and 2004. Its first year, the model ran on a 182-horsepower, 3.9-liter V8 engine and sat seven passengers. By 1996, SD, SE, and SE7 trims were available, and a 4.0-liter, eight-cylinder engine came standard. In 1997, LSE and XD trims added, and by 1998, LE and 50th Anniversary Edition trims would join them. 1999 saw the Series II unveiled, and in 2001, that model line took off, offering Series II LE, Series II SD, and Series II SE trims.

In 2003, the following trims were options: S, S7, SE, SE7, HSE, and HSE7. They incorporated 217-horsepower, 4.6-liter V8 engines. In 2004, the model went on hiatus, returning in 2017 in SE, HSE, HSE Luxury, and First Edition trims. You could get one of two engines, depending on trim: a 340-horsepower, 3.0-liter supercharged V6 or a 254-horsepower, 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel V6. Both paired with an eight-speed transmission, and full-time four-wheel drive came standard. Features ranged from a Terrain Response 2 system and fixed panoramic sunroof to a 10-inch high-definition infotainment screen, premium Meridian audio, an air suspension, and more.

For 2022, Land Rover Discovery is available in S, R-Dynamic S, and R-Dynamic HSE trims. Again, two engine choices exist: a 2.0-liter I4 capable of 296 horsepower, and a 3.0-liter inline-six that puts out 355 horsepower. A mild hybrid powertrain is available, and both an eight-speed auto transmission and all-wheel drive are standard. Features include 20-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights that are self-leveling, and keyless ignition, plus tons of other options.
